Nighttime routines for better sleep

Hitting the sack right after a tiresome day would be the most enjoyable feeling in the world and I am one of it too. But, we should have a sound sleep for it, to make sure it’s still more refreshing in the morning.

I’ll suggest my top 10 routines to have a better sleep at night.

1| DIM THE LIGHTS

Lights set the mood as the color depicts certain characteristics. To have quality sleep, make sure you dim the lights to set them all for the rest of the night. Have a reddish light as it reduces depression symptoms based on Hamsters Research.

Sounds amazing right!!! 

So, make sure of it and enjoy the beauty of sleep.

2| AVOID SCREEN TIME

The light from the mobile/PC screen affects our eyes and strains them to the max. It is better to avoid screen time before going to bed. Set it aside prior to 1 hour and follow other routines to compensate for it.

It sounds difficult, I understand but, to have a great sleep, we have to sacrifice it right?

3| PECHOTI METHOD

Thinking of what is this method?

It is a common practice where one has to apply coconut oil to the belly button right at night.

Ewww….. Sticky….. Yeah, the same feeling.

But, it has many advantages to our health and as well as to our skin. This makes our skin to retain the essential oil and avoids drying out especially good at winter times. Basically absorbs oil and has great benefits so, let us give it a try.

Happiness consists of getting enough sleep. Just that, nothing more.

4| SKINCARE

Usually getting to sleep without cleansing our face makes us feel heavy. So, wash the face and sleep with fresh skin or apply your nighttime lotions/creams. Leaves a light effect on our skin and replenishes our skin as the night time helps to repair our skin cells.

5| PERSONAL HYGIENE

One of the best ways at night is to brush your teeth. Nighttime is a long duration probably where our mouths are filled with bacteria’s and so on.

6| DOING SIMPLE EXERCISES

Try doing simple moves/exercises before sleeping. Relaxes your muscles, releases the strain, and sets the way for a peaceful sleep. Even try meditation which has proven effects too.

7| ORGANIZE FOR THE NEXT DAY

Set things for the next day like scheduling a to-do list, select the outfit and, plan accordingly. So the upcoming day would be hassle-free and an organized one.

8| GRATITUDE

Be thankful for the day given to you and feel grateful for whatsoever took place. This helps you to feel good about everything and sets your heart serene. Learn from it and let it go.

Sleep is the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.

9| READ A BOOK

A 2009 study showed that reading a book for 6 minutes reduces 68% of stress. So, it’s the best way for us to read a book before going to bed as it helps for better sleep.

10| GIVE A POSITIVE AFFIRMATION TO YOURSELF

I have given my best today and the next day, I will try as hard as I can and set a productive day along by enjoying every second.

Giving yourself a positive affirmation like this can help your mind to relax mentally and day by day it improves your self-confidence as well.
